Frequently Asked Questions |
What if I have to cancel or reschedule my appointment?Cancellations Must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time, if you have 2 or more dogs needing to cancel or reschedule please give atleast 48 hours notice. Being a mobile service, I only take 3-5 grooming appointments per day. A last minute cancellation/ reschedule cannot be re-filled, resulting in lost income. The mobile van is only in certain areas & towns each day, not every caller is in the area the mobile van is in. A last minute Cancellation Fee maybe added if this is not followed. If you are not home (unless prior arrangements allow me to retrieve dog) when I arrive for your scheduled appointment, you will be assessed a $30 Travel Fee. If for any reason the grooming service is not able to be started the travel fee must be paid. New Clients: Cancellation, no show or reschedule not given 24 hours notice prior to the scheduled appointment time I will require 20% deposit to make another appointment. Paypal or check. The payment will be credited to your grooming bill as long as the appointment is kept. Cats?Sorry I do not groom cats. They are just too unpredictable to groom. I do recommend Gone to the Dogs in Bonney Lake, they groom cats & have been for 20yrs. So far I haven't found a mobile around here that does them. Do you need to use my power or water?Yes, I should have enough power on board to do 1-2 small dogs. Should I run a little low on power I might need to plug into a working electrical outlet. During the summer or humid days I might need to run my AC, that will require me to plug into a 120amp outlet usually found in the bathroom, kitchen or behind the clothes washer, sometimes a garage. We are looking at getting a generator. As for water, I have enough on board to do your dog (s) but if I run low then I may ask to refill my tank. Right now I am able to do 4 - 5 dogs squeaky clean with my 28 gallon tank of fresh water & 6 gallon hotwater tank. I only book this 3-5 a day. Is there parking requirements or restrictions?I do need a level place to slight slope as it does help with water drainage out of the tub into my gray tank. How ever too much slope & its uncomfortable on the dog & groomer to stand though. ~ My rig is 12ft tall with the AC, so do a quick check for low wires and tree branches. I wouldn't want to take out one of your important ones. I have to watch that my AC doesn't get damaged so I can keep your dog(s) cool during the summer. Steep driveways are too much for my heavy van, I have locked up tires & slid down one too many backing down out of a driveway. If I can park safely at the top or bottom & walk up or down that is fine (although I might end up out of breath lol). Also backing out onto a busy road is not my favorite as I have alot of blind spots, even more on rainy days. If I am not able to turn around in your driveway then please help guide me out. Not every house is Mobile Grooming ready. Let me know upon making an appointment what your parking area is like. Is there a size limit?Yes, I am only able to do small to medium dog grooms (haircuts) up to 45lbs with big dogs on a case by case basis. Due to health concerns I am needing to lower my size limit to save my back & shoulders so I can continue to groom. My tub & table space is limited, I want the dogs comfortable. If the dog is too big then they will be stressed & I can't do my best job getting them clean & trimmed. I am ok with doing short haired big dog baths around the 50lb range if they fit in the tub & are well behaved (no climbing the walls for a bath, dryer etc). Owner must be available to help me lift into the tub with dogs 45lbs or larger. My back can only take so much in a day, I'd like to be grooming when I am old. What kind of bathing products do you use?I use all natural shampoos and conditioners. My main shampoo and conditioner brands are: Natural Espree, Best Shot & Show Seasons. Am I required to show proof of vaccinations? No. If for some reason your dog doesn't like something being done & I end up bit bad enough to see a doctor then the Doctor will require an up to date rabies certificate. As much as I would love to clean up the stray dog you just found, I am unable to work on stray dogs unless you are willing to take on full responsibility for the dog's actions & have atleast the dog's rabies shot updated. Do I have to be home while you groom my dog?Yes, I do require you to be home. Once we have developed a relationship between you & your dog (s) we can make arrangements to groom even if you aren't home. You can be assured of complete client/groomer confidentiality. Although some dogs are not comfortable with the groomer coming in the house when owner is gone, so this option may or may not work out. If I am unable to retrieve the dog for grooming, a $30 time & fuel fee will need to be paid. Handing me the dog before you leave might work. If you are needing to leave during the grooming, that is fine as long as payment is left before you leave & instruction on where to put the dog safely & securely once the grooming is done. Is it ok to give a little extra for a tip?Yes, grooming is a service so it is ok to give the groomer a tip if you like the work done to your dog. Its always nice but not required & is not rolled into the bill. This is your choice to add in a little or not. Do you accept credit cards?I now have a Paypal account for the business. If you would like to pay your grooming bill with Credit Card or Debit let me know before I start the groom & I can email you an invoice through Paypal from my phone. The Paypal invoice will take you step by step online how to pay with a Credit Card, you don't have to have an account with paypal. The cost to me isn't bad, 2.9% + $0.30. Better then most credit card programs. No monthly fees so I can offer this option to the few that need to use Cards but if there are a few months where no one needs to use a Credit Card I'm not charged for having this option. Not having extra fees means I don't have to pass the cost off on to my clients either which I'm sure you all are relieved to hear. I will still accept cash and checks. Payment is due at the time Services are performed. There is a $20 service charge fee for all returned checks & $25 for denied credit cards. Repeat check bounces or denied cards are subject to going cash only. |
